Know which collection you are bringing

A vintage binder, modern rookie collection, sealed box and large accumulation of common cards require different reviews. Tell us the sports, approximate years and number of boxes or binders. Keep your existing organization so key cards and sets can be located.

    Condition changes comparisons

Centering, corners, edges and surface are important when assessing cards. Creases, trimming, stains or other alterations can change the market substantially. A raw card should not be compared automatically with a professionally graded example carrying a high grade. PSA’s published standards explain the importance of condition.

    Match the exact card

Player and year alone may not identify the correct issue. Card number, set, parallel, serial number, autograph status and any grading label can matter. Recent completed sales of genuinely comparable cards are more useful than a high asking price on a different version.

    Should you grade everything first?

Grading takes time and money, and it does not guarantee that the result will cover those costs. Before submitting a whole collection, identify which cards might justify further attention. Leave cards already in certified holders sealed, and avoid wiping, pressing or trying to improve raw cards.

How we review a large card collection

We may begin with an overview, then separate key singles, sets and bulk material. This helps determine which items need individual comparisons. A collection offer can differ from the sum of optimistic individual retail listings because condition, selling costs, demand and time affect the buying decision.

Photos and a call come first

Send front and back photos of important cards and a wide photo of the collection. Include readable grading labels or serial numbers. Call 945-268-7193 to discuss sports cards or TCG cards and arrange a visit to our Richardson store.
