How to prepare mixed collectibles for a buying review, preserve identifying information and find out which items fit our buying categories.

Tell us what is in the collection

The word collectibles can describe many different objects. Start with a short list: coins, medals, tokens, currency, jewelry, sports cards, TCG cards or other pieces. If an item falls outside our usual buying categories, photos and a call help establish whether we can evaluate it before you make the trip.

    Identify without guessing

Look for maker names, dates, edition markings, labels and packaging. Photograph these details rather than assigning an unverified identity from a similar online image. A reproduction and an original may look alike in a distant photo, and an old appearance alone does not establish age or authenticity.

Completeness and condition affect the review

Original accessories and matching pieces can help establish what is present. Missing components, repairs and damage may affect marketability. Keep objects together with their boxes and paperwork until someone has reviewed them. Avoid polishing, restoring or dismantling items just to make them easier to sell.

    Use realistic market comparisons

An advertised asking price is not evidence that an item sold for that amount. Comparisons should match the actual object, condition and completeness. For unusual items, the number of interested buyers can also influence an offer. We explain which factors are relevant to the material we are reviewing.

    Build a photo overview

Take one image showing the collection’s size, then clear closeups of identifying marks and notable pieces. Include dimensions for objects whose scale is unclear. Share details privately through the inquiry form instead of publishing the location of valuable items.

Call to confirm the right next step

Contact Dallas Coins & Collectibles Store at 945-268-7193. We can discuss coins, metals, jewelry, sports cards, TCG cards and estate collectibles, confirm what fits our review and arrange a visit to Richardson. An initial conversation can save unnecessary sorting and travel.
